Top 100 Greatest Music Albums

Just personal favorites. Having been born in 1970 I always go back to these albums when I need to remember those childhood feelings and memories. Some of these I got as a kid and played constantly. A lot of the older ones like the Beatles and Tim Buckley my parents played on a regular basis. Stuff from the early eighties on up I discovered myself and would try to get my information on them from popular critics from Rolling Stone or anybody else I thought new their music history and had the same kinds of tastes in music. I'm trying to list the ones that give me that feel, and also show real talent that I think most music and rock n roll people would agree with. Hope people will be down with it. No particular order to it

Started really getting into that whole hippie scene, which led to getting all the psychedelic music I could get. Saw the movie after this and really related to it

Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
