Top 78 Greatest Music Albums by willmaatealrii Unknown

Hello chart viewers, few disclaimers:

Yeah I realise this chart is incredibly repetitive, but it's also honest.
There are also a lot of fairly obvious picks, Bowie, Pink Floyd, Beatles etc, however there is also a decent amount of slightly less known and interesting picks to be had
Comments are in the works, I pinky promise.

Enjoy

Some call this the slightly lame Chili album, which I personally think is ludicrous. Sure, it is much more softly spoken than some of the previous works, the guitars are less distorted, the bass is much less punchy and the lyrics are no longer so overtly sexual and generally I would argue a bit better. There are of course funky numbers on here, like the immovable Can't Stop, but generally the atmosphere is one of calm. Frusciante is the absolute star of this album, Flea and Chad are solid throughout and in terms of lyrics these are some Keidis' best up to this point. The only downside to this album are the songs Don't Forget Me and Venice Queen. They are brilliant songs, but having heard the live versions, particularly La Cigale and Slane Castle, the studios seem rather lackluster in comparison. Best songs: Dosed, Can't Stop and I Could Die For You (the chords are incredible). [First added to this chart: 03/10/2017]

The greatest G-Funk album of all time. Snoop could easily be criticised for a lot of things, putting out an endless stream of mediocre records, appearing on anything for the money etc etc, but this is him at his best, before he made it, before he was rich, before he became a meme. If you consider yourself a fan of rap and you haven't given this a listen then hang your head in shame. Key tracks include: Gz and Hustlaz, G Funk Intro and Who Am I (What's my Name)?. I once again cannot think of anything to say about this album that has not been said before. If you haven't listened to it, drop everything and get it done. [First added to this chart: 03/10/2017]

This is an album for listening to in the dark, on good quality headphones. The album starts with an incredible cover of 'Maggot Brain' by Funkadelic, where Frusciante's guitar truly screams, it's rare that a near 10 minute guitar solo can hold ones attention so effectively, but this achieves that. Other highlights include the most accessible track 'Unreachable', the most popular track 'Central' that acts as the volta of the album, and the the closing track 'Here, Air' which sounds somewhat out of place, but successfully brings you back down to earth before you continue your day. Frusciante's falsetto vocals are incredibly soothing on this album particularly on tracks such as 'Heaven' and 'Dark Light'. There are also some brilliant string arrangements, such as on 'Central' and 'One More of Me'. [First added to this chart: 03/10/2017]

This is the album that truly showed what the Chili's would one day become. Certainly it is not as good as later albums, there is too much distortion, the lyrics are not quite there yet, and it lacks the backing vocals that made albums like 'By the Way' so perfect. However, there is still a lot to love in the childish humour, obvious talent on display and raw feel to it. The cover of Stevie Wonder's 'Higher Ground' naturally takes the plaudits, but other highlights include the opener 'Good Time Boys', the anti drug anthem 'Knock Me Down' and the frankly pleasant 'Pretty Little Ditty'. There is nothing I can say about this album that hasn't been said before. Perfect, but for the fact that Within You Without You (or whatever it's called) is part of the track listing. [First added to this chart: 03/10/2017]
