From the start of this album, it becomes apparent Radiohead's full transition into a mature band with a very melancholic approach to music, strings included. Yorke's lyrics are resentful and hard to swallow. The atmosphere takes you through snowy mountains in the likes of "Daydreaming" and late night highways like in "Ful Stop". At the end of the album, Radiohead turns "True Love Waits" into a ballad that fades into nothingness as you try to wake up from this dark nightmare.

(Allegedly) turning his head to reflect on Major Tom, one of his most important characters, in the stellar ten-minute opening, this album continues in the following songs by talking about his own death and mortality, ending with the heart-breaking "I Can't Give Everything Away" where he spends his last words reminding us of the legacy he has left on music.
