Not an easy decade for really great music because of its technological abuse (I find some relation to the 2010s).
But yeah... Spirit of Eden is incredible.
Also, Hounds of Love is a grower. Like it even more with each listening.
Steve Reich! Yes! I've seen these works played live and its sublime experience.
Also Remain In Light is one of the great dance records of all time.
Don't know Mariah? What is it?
Arvo Part's Tabula Rasa is another great work!
We've a similar contemporary taste, I see :)
