Was actually just listening to this album yesterday at my friends house... we were smoking a joint between the 3 of us on a saturday evening. we were all baked, but not too bad. we were talking about random stuff with DSotM in the background. about 3-4 times, one of us would go onto the computer (same computer DSotM was playing from) and go onto youtube to laugh at a funny clip (or what ever it was we were doing) but it was impossible. there was no way that we would interrupt the song. no matter how much we wanted to watch the video... the music was our priority. we ended up listening to the entirety of the album with our bowl... after the album finished.. we put on led zeppelin. If you don't like the Doors, then we can't be friends. But to be honest, it had taken me a while to realise that this was my favourite album, ever. Puts me in a motivated mood every time I hear the start of Break on Through, soothes me with The Crystal Ship (Jim's voice is amazing in this song, impossible not to sing along to it). Light My Fire would have to be the best song to ever exist IMO, amazing solo, amazing solo, amazing solo and amazing solo.
Oh and when ever The End is playing, don't bother me, its a masterpiece. (same thing goes with hallelujah by Jeff Buckley)

Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 83.6/100, a mean average of 81.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 83.1/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 17.2.

This chart's okay, kinda comes off as a glorified rearrangement of the highest acclaimed albums on this site but to each their own I guess.
