"A difficult album to get into compared with her debut, but for me this is much more rewarding. Starts out a bit bumpily (VV Violence) but the last three tracks really are exceptional. Won't necessarily suit everyone's tastes but for me this is a stand-out record of 2016."  Reply

"Scots composer Anna Meredith has been involved in all manner of fun cross-disciplinary projects (including a musical flashmob on a motorway), and her style is similarly all over the shop. Varmints is a very swish example of what she can do. Not a massive fan of the vocals, but that quickly ceases..."  [+]  Reply

"following up an album about teenage angst after over 15 years was gonna be hard in more ways than one, and it shows. even if lines like "doctor, it hurts when i exist" or "i've malevolence inside of me" aren't actually worse than anything on the first album, it certainly feels like it when it's c..."  [+]  Reply

"Very good album. The cover is quite stunning. I think that the overall continuity would have been better had all songs been recorded at the same recording studio. Album notes states that this was not the case. As such it does sound like the production is different."  Reply
