"Unlike The Beatles, The Rolling Stones started out by recording mostly cover songs. England's Newest Hitmakers is the US version of their debut, which was self titled in the UK. The differences are in the album cover, which in England had no text on the front, and the US version substitutes Buddy..."  [+]  Reply

"You can, as many probably are aware of, in several rock encyclopedias and other publications on rock and pop learn that this first album by Country Joe and the Fish is regarded as a classic, and that people with an interest in the psychedelic music of the 1960s should hear and appreciate it. This..."  [+]  Reply

"2 duds and 10 songs that made either Endless Summer (4) or Spirit of America (6). Was this their greatest singles album? Quite possibly. And since this IS America's greatest rock 'n' roll band it must be one of the greatest albums ever, no? Brian's strengths as a tunesmith were in full gear here...."  [+]  Reply

"For me... Tracks Of My Tears is one of the best songs ever written. Somehow it hits home for me. People think I'm all nice and happy when I don't feel that way. Problem with this record is only the hits are really worth my time. So I'll be listening to his greatest hits."  Reply

"Highly underrated debut from Shakey, as his style would be more defined by his next album. This record continues Neil's work he contributed to the last two Buffalo Springfield albums (produced separately before the group disbanded). It's beautiful psychedelic folk rock. I'm surprised Kanye West o..."  [+]  Reply

"Bill Evans gets a bit overshadowed here; he's great, but he's not mic-ed up great and he's not bringing the harder edges the other players are. Eric Dolphy on this album, oh my god. Check out Yearnin', where he plays the last part of the head with total precision, and then immediately goes wailin..."  [+]  Reply
