"What an incendiary listen. It’s as much a great album as it is a blueprint to the present and nearly next decade of popular music. In this record I hear influence on Yes, Genesis, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Steve Miller.... the list could go on. This is a great album held up by the pillar of sound cr..."  [+]  Reply

"My rating and comment are for the US version. It's a nice showcase for Jagger and Richards as songwriters. It starts incredibly strong with Paint it Black....and all-time great song. Stupid Girl is one of my favourite lesser known Stones songs and Lady Jane and Under My Thumb are great as well. H..."  [+]  Reply

"Alicia Keys, one of the most instantly recognizable voices of modern soul and blues, has said that she considers someone without an Aretha Franklin album only half a person. And if there is one Aretha album to own, this is the one. Obviously you know Aretha's iconic cover to Otis Redding's "Respe..."  [+]  Reply

"One of, if not the best Creedence Clearwater Revival. Green river, is a fantastic record of good old honest rock'n'roll. It features possibly CCR best set of songs, featuring, amongst others, sinister purpose, Lodi, and the timeless, bad moon rising. This is rock'n'roll with heart and soul."  Reply

"Something else, is my favourite Kinks album. Everything that had been promised over the course of a brilliant run of singles, and almost achieved on preceding record, face to face, finally comes to fruition on a perfect LP. Something else, is the album where Ray Davies finally lands on his feet. ..."  [+]  Reply

"So this is where it all started with ten of the songs recorded in an eleven hour session. It features their two singles up to that point, love me do and the title track. The other standouts from Lennon-McCartney are the rollicking opener, I saw her standing there and the beautiful and overlooked ..."  [+]  Reply
