Shamefully overlooked, inside and outside Denmark. Figurines combine modern quirky indie-rock with, on this album, new psychedelic 60s influences not unlike The Beach Boys and The Zombies. I once saw Figurines perform "Childhood Verse" on television and I was left completely mesmerized. A magic gem of an album!

It's because of the times that I got involved with Kings of Leon in the first place. Their commercial breakthrough with "Sex on Fire" and "Use Somebody" hadn't cooled off yet in 2010, but I picked this one up instead. First impressions weren't big, but the album has unfolded itself since. Maybe unlike any other KoL album, they weren't taking themselves too much or too little seriously. Great energy, yet it oozes of ambience.

Not your standard straightforward Foo Fighters album. The beginning is exactly what you'd expect from these guys. It kicks more ass than ever, but then slowly segues into something lighter, more acoustic and a little more experimental, at least for Foo Fighters. It was back then by far the heaviest album I had listened to. Today, it's not so heavy, but brings back many breezy memories.

I've had some extreme religious experiences with this album. Imagine you're sitting on a cloud and the stars from above are shining on you. And you're on ecstacy. And you're having sex with the love of your life for the first time. And you've never had sex before. And you've just won the lottery. And you're drunk too. Okay, was that too much? But you get my point, the album is EPIC!

Hysterically catchy and energetic. A wonderland of modern lo-fi indie rock and beloved classic psychedelic 60s influences. Thrown in are some odd, odd and very short instrumental interludes that are part of its charm and part of its main flaw, but still a highly enjoyable and delightful treat of an album all the way.

In rainbows of Radiohead's more colourful, minimalistic and brighter take on music. It's not instant love, more like a jigsaw slowly falling into place, but once it's complete, it becomes another Radiohead world of its own!

Your mood shift will shift back to good again with this psychedelic/schizophrenic explosion of an album! Blissfully catchy, slightly depressing, but ultimately messed up in a way that can only make you feel optimistic. Crazy stuff!

Neon bible of dark waves and bad vibrations. "Neon Bible" mirrors a less brighter side of Arcade Fire, but the band show us after the big success of "Funeral" that they're still keeping the car running with great grandiose indie rock.

I tend to agree with you about the backlash against Coldplay--I think they're a fine band that's made a lot of great, emotionally resonant music. I don't think they deserve the Nickelback treatment at all. (And neither does U2, but that's a story for another day.) So I appreciate your chart for putting A Rush of Blood to the Head at #1. I also love Funeral (I know everyone does, but it's for good reason), Illinois, Fleet Foxes, and Chutes Too Narrow, among many of your other selections. I really enjoy your detailed comments, too.
