How can you not love Paul McCartney's favourite album (or at least one of them) and a strong influence on both "Revolver" and especially "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"? Deeper than the usual themes about surfing and cars, greater songs and most importantly, a timelessly beautiful and revolutionary sound. Still puzzling why Brian Wilson had a nervous breakdown after having made such a great album. So what if The Beatles made a slightly better album, is that like the end of the world? Ah, well!

Simon & Garfunkel are on top when it comes to delivering great silence, though their silence can easily be confused with music. Just as it would be routine with all following S&G albums, "Sounds of Silence" is packed with mesmerizingly beautiful tunes. "I Am a Rock" has to be one of their cutest songs.

Another folk wonder by Simon & Garfunkel. "Scarborough Fair/Canticle" sets a mesmerizing tone for the album only to be followed by other equally beautiful folk tunes. Only two minor missteps with the borderline annoying Bob Dylan paradody, "A Simple Desultory Philippic (or How I Was Robert McNamara'd into Submission)", and the rather pointless idea of "7 O'Clock News/Silent Night", a performance of "Silent Night" with overdubbed random broadcast news from 3 August 1966.

Great tune on great tune, Bob Dylan covers everything from dirty, bluesy songs to catchy pop tunes! There's a great vibe on this one and a lot of cool organs that take the songs to the next level. A defining Bob Dylan album!

If you can't believe your ears during this album, then it's fully understandable. Gorgeous sunshine pop with vocal harmonies this eargasmic shouldn't be possible!

Not the same sky of mushroom clouds as "Forever Changes" (especially in terms of untraditional rock instrumentation/orchestration). This early-stage Love have yet to discover their unique direction here fiddling around with a much more garagey sound than the aforementioned album, but includes solid tunes here and there including tender ballads like "Softly to Me" and "Mushroom Clouds".

Freak out to The Mother of Invention's satirical debut album! No brain police was there to limit the infinite number of creative and crazy ideas that flew around this double album. Amazing that psychedelic music was parodied in a manner this experimental before the sound of "real" psychedelic music was fully developed!

Jefferson Airplane takes off! By that is implied that they haven't peaked yet and that they haven't found their truly psychedelic sound. Still, a high-flying debut!
