Extremely solid midwestern emo that speaks to the loneliness and unhappiness that sometimes tends to linger. Songs do a great job of feeling empty and often convey a sort of ‘screaming into the void’.

A piece of abstract and bizarre electro-pop that cannot be nailed down. The songs bring so much energy and texture, and as soon as you think you’ve figured the whole thing out, the next song takes a 180. Databend is a great song too.

Tourist History is full of great modern indie jams that are full of great songwriter detail and hooks that’ll be ingrained in my head for the rest of time. Undercover Martyn is a classic.

A far departure from Bon Iver’s regular music, 22, A Million is experimental, weird, and sometimes barely sounds like music. The auto tune compliments the instrumentals extremely well, and this robotic yet beautiful romp is one I frequently find myself coming back to.

Following a 17 year hiatus from the first LP, American Football came back swinging with a second fantastic album, one that I feel surpasses the first. Desire Gets In The Way is my high point, and the songs pack an energy that I feel wanes in and out on the first album.

When I die, I’m going to make sure to die lit. The success of Magnolia off of the previous mixtape set a clear path for Carti, and he took the mold and made countless more trap hits in its vein, and it really, really works.
