The 2000's for music is quite a conundrum I find. There's some absolute gold but as a decade I found it didn't really excel.
I realize my chart has a lot of compilations. I am trying to ween them out
Any footnotes are just personal ramblings for my own entertainment.
And to remind me of the joy the music brings before all memory is erased.

90.00* My discovery of Lily Allen was during a late afternoon slot at a festival. Prior to this anything I'd heard from her wasn't really my cup of tea. But after a selection of fine drugs, my attitude towards her changed forever. The true telling factor though was when I got her album at a later date and listened to it with a clear mind. Loved it. Hence the drugs helped me discover but aren't needed for the pure enjoyment of what she produces. Great sardonic lyrics yet very uplifting. All hail Lily.

85.00 An album of spectacular grandeur without over lengthy songs. Fantastic track sequencing. Upon listening to it again after about a decade gap, I'd forgotten how good this actually is. Way better than I'd remembered it to be. I'd put it as equal best along side 'Absolution'

82.00 The great thing with Primal Scream is they have such a mix of styles but it can all come under the same umbrella. This boasting a heap of very catchy rock, bluesy rock n roll, psychedelia but all with a country tinge. My favorite Scream album and one I feel is majorly overlooked 04/24

81.81 Their second album. Even though it is flanked by superior albums immediately before and after, this is still a great effort. It's just the higher number of fillers on this that stop it being level par. This was the first of their albums I got. Thought it was great at the time. Always fantastic when the other albums you then get from a band at a later date turn out to be way better. Music fucking rules.

80.76* A bit of a return to form. With this they seemed to be upping the tempo a bit on a good chunk of songs. Pretty consistent with no real weak tracks. Would rank as my 3rd favorite from them after Ten & V's

80.50 This is very much an under-rated band and album within the Symphonic Metal world. Sabine Edelsbacher is a fantastic vocalist. Deserves more recognition 05/24

79.33 Their best album. Good range of styles but still predominantly hard rock/metal. Some really great tracks. What makes this their best is that it's all music. Not an album broken up by vocal parody like others. For an album not to be taken seriously, it fucking rocks
