The 2000's for music is quite a conundrum I find. There's some absolute gold but as a decade I found it didn't really excel.
I realize my chart has a lot of compilations. I am trying to ween them out
Any footnotes are just personal ramblings for my own entertainment.
And to remind me of the joy the music brings before all memory is erased.

90.14* This is the album that set SOAD apart from the others with them finding there unique style. They have a sound unlike anyone else. With this followed by 'Hypnotize' & 'Mezmerize' they rightly deserve there place among the Metal elite.

This was on my wants list but has exceeded all expectations. It's always a joy when you find a metal album of this caliber. Starts great and just gets better in the back half. Metal gold 06/24

80.55 Good mostly guitar driven electronic pop/rock. Much better than I was expecting. Strong front half. Dips a bit back half but still overall a decent album.

79.45* Knowing nothing about them, I got this when I saw it due to them having a resurgence and appearing at a heap of rock and metal festivals all over Europe and the States. Definitely not metal. More pop/rock but with a bit of tempo behind them. I recognized a couple of songs on this. Kicks off with the best tracks then dips a bit in the back half. Their sound is mostly buoyant. A big plus with this is that their slower ballad like songs are actually really good. Overall, this is alright

79.00 Steady catchy rhythms, a lot of them being bottom end and bass heavy. Differing vocals on some tracks gives it great variety. A cracker album. Got this after 'Demon Days'. Some great songs on this but not matching the caliber of it's predecessor

78.38* The singles from this which I knew from back in the day didn't overly impress me at the time. My, how this turned out to be a dark horse gem. Most of the other tracks fuck over those that were chosen as the singles. Mild hints of grunge but based in rhythmic rock. It's really good. Love it. Exceeded all expectations

78.36* Thought this was just pretty average for years and years as it all seemed to just blend together. Then pulled it out & listened to it couple of times in a row. It then clicked. All songs still sound very similar but they're all bloody great songs. Hip Hip Hoorah

Elbow never let me down. I like all albums I've heard from them and this is no exception. I love their sound and style. 'Powder Blue' being the track that initially turned me on to them. This has some some great tracks on it but I find it has the highest number of sub par tracks I've found on any of their albums. Bit too much filler to rate it up there with there best.
