This is the Beatles best album. It's a perfect presentation of each Beatles unique styles. The amount of different genres on this album is insane going from calming "Julia" a sad song about John's mother who died when he was young to the loud "Helter Skelter" What many to believe is the very first heavy metal song. Its just a perfect album, although people criticise it for being weird with songs such as "Revolution 9" which I actually enjoy and think it could lead to the inspiration of bands like "Godspeed you! Black Emperor" I just think all the songs are insanely unique to each band member and showed all of their full potentials. 10/10 [First added to this chart: 07/19/2021]

This was a fight between this and Blood on the Tracks but I just had to go with this one. At this point in Bob's life he was at his lyrically and musically best time in the 60s. He'd fully reverted to rock and roll and he stopped protest songs for more fantasy driven stories he told that are hard to decipher and you can take the meaning of his lyrics anyway you'd like. That's what i love about Dylan. His abstract lyrics are his perfection and this is Bob's masterpiece. Blood on the Tracks is a close second but some of the songs on that album don't give me the same feeling as the songs from Blonde on Blonde 10/10 [First added to this chart: 07/19/2021]

This is probably the greatest love album ever made. First of all the Lyrics on this is just beautiful, every single word spoken on this album has meaning and whether thats something happy or sad it's truthful. God Only Knows, my favourite song about love ever because every line on that song is so meaningful. The production on this is fantasic with Brian Jones arranging his orchestra for each song making the album sound totally unique. The vocals are outstanding from all the beach boys. Their harmonies are just on another level of beautiful. The story behind this album being made is beautiful on it's own with people telling Brian that this album will be terrible and they gotta keep making hits but he doesn't care, he wants to make what he knows is beautiful. I only wish we lived in a universe where people were more accepting of Brian's ideas then maybe we would've gotten Smile in 1967 and it would've been a masterpiece (I have heard the Smile Sessions and yes I believe it's beautiful) Just this album is an essential listen to anyone its great even as a simple listen people don't need to analyse it to fully enjoy it but trust me fully analysing this album is worth it it's just incredible. This albums so ahead of its time. It's the debut album by the Velvet Underground from 1967 which is surprising considering its still a massive inspiration to modern music. First of all the lyrics, they're so goddamn dark and poetic. Going over themes of prostitution, drug overdose, drug dealing, sex. Which is insane considering all the other music released in 1967 going over themes nowhere near as dark as these. The sound is incredibly original with some songs have strong distorted guitar and heavy thudding drums. Whereas some songs have beautiful sounding guitar melodies. Lou Reed's voice is so iconic for this album and it definitely inspired other singers with much deeper sounding voices to be singers and of course Nico's beautiful yet haunting voice pairs well with Lou's. One of the most influential albums from one of the most influential bands ever. I forgot to mention about the song Heroin. This song is by far in my opinion one of the greatest songs ever written lyrically and instrumentally. The lyrics tell the story of a man who doesn't know where he's going in life so he decides to take in heroin and at first it makes him feel powerful and amazing but as the song progresses it slowly becomes more and more evident that heroin's making his life worse and he's dying but he doesn't care because he's better off dead than alive knowing how depressing his life is. The instruments in this are amazing with a slow quiet guitar which slowly becomes more and more violent paired with the screeching violin and the bass drum representing this dying mans heart beat getting faster and faster as he takes the drug then slowing down as he's dying. Jesus this songs a masterpiece. That's all I can say [First added to this chart: 11/07/2021]
