A perfect Hip Hop album with blends of Electro and Jazz. The lyricism and Kendrick's flows are just perfect. Definitely an album to listen to front to back. 10/10[First added to this chart: 07/19/2021]
This might seem like an unusual choice but I really enjoy this album from start to finish. Its similar to the white album where its a lot of songs going over different emotions and topics and each song is catchy and lyrical and its Stevie Wonders masterpiece and it deserves all the praise to get. It takes a couple of listens to enjoy because of the length but trust me once you've listened to it a couple of times its the best thing ever. 10/10[First added to this chart: 07/19/2021]
This was a fight between this and Blood on the Tracks but I just had to go with this one. At this point in Bob's life he was at his lyrically and musically best time in the 60s. He'd fully reverted to rock and roll and he stopped protest songs for more fantasy driven stories he told that are hard to decipher and you can take the meaning of his lyrics anyway you'd like. That's what i love about Dylan. His abstract lyrics are his perfection and this is Bob's masterpiece. Blood on the Tracks is a close second but some of the songs on that album don't give me the same feeling as the songs from Blonde on Blonde 10/10[First added to this chart: 07/19/2021]
This album is Indie Rock perfection. The impact this album had on genrations of rock to come is insane. It's the equivalent of the modern sgt peppers or modern nevermind. The lyrics of being young and ruthless come across amazing with Julians muffled voice and the quick instrumentation. The line from the song Hard to Explain "I say the right thing, but act the wrong way. I like it right here, but I cannot stay. I watch the TV, forget what I'm told. Well, I am too young, and they are too old" is just perfection I fucking love it so much. This album is just insanely catchy and lyrical and listen to it. 10/10[First added to this chart: 07/19/2021]
This may seem a bit surprising seeing how new this album is but I'm in love with it. I could have chosen Blue album or Pinkerton but I think them albums are just as good as OK Human but I picked this one because no one has talked about it that much and I'm sure you've heard more than enough about Blue and Pinkerton. This album is so incredibly smart with its instrumentation. This album is sort of a statement on society now and how technology has taken over the world but in a light hearted Weezer sort of way. It is very similar to OK Computer (Even the name took inspiration) and OK Human is just a modern simpler version of that album. The album uses no electric instrumentation and only uses instruments such as the violins and drums and pianos which I found to be incredibly smart and it makes the album sound even more beautiful. Listen to this album if you've heard Blue and Pinkerton and think that Weezer hasn't released anything good ever since because trust me your mind will be changed. 10/10[First added to this chart: 08/16/2021]
This album lyrically is what I imagine someone sounding like if they didn't care about any opinion on society or anyone. Which I fucken love about it. This album from front to back is amazing and Two Headed Boy PT 2 is the greatest finish to any album its so beautiful. This album is an essential listen to anyone. 10/10[First added to this chart: 08/16/2021]
I cannot explain how beautifully crafted this album is. In my opinion this is the greatest breakup album I have ever heard so far. The amount of different interpretations this album has is crazy I've heard at least 10 different interpretations of the meaning of this album. Mine is basically the album starts off with the 3 tracks "Dark Fantasy, Gorgeous and POWER" Which all highlight the main themes you're about to listen to which is Fame, Love and Sadness. All of the lights is where the true story of this album begins with Kanye finding out his wife is cheating on him. Which leads into Monster and So Appalled which are tracks highlighting Kanye admitting he's a dick and not a good human being like all of us. Which leads into the beautifully produced and written Devil In A New Dress which is about the girl Kanye is with is obviously not wanting to be with him but Kanye understands and knows there's nothing he can do about it to stop her feeling this way. So to help her, on the next track Runaway Kanye is telling her to go and find someone else because he's a bad guy and he can't treat her well enough so she should just leave and find what makes her happy. This leads into Hell Of A Life which Kanye's heartbreak and depression leads him into going into his darkest thoughts and he mentions many things on this track showing how much this relationship has ruined his mental state. The next track Blame Game Kanye raps about how they both hate each other as much as they love each other and Kanyes thinking of old memories of them together trying to figure out how he can get back with her until he receives an accidental phone call from her seeing that she's cheating on him. Reacting to this Kanye cant handle any of this which leads into Lost In The World. Kanye feels lost and he doesn't belong anywhere because the girl he loved the most is now loving other men and he knows he cant bring her back to him anymore. This whole album is basically the story of Kanye getting with a girl and they both agree that the relationships just for sex but gradually Kanye starts generating feelings for the girl but knows she'll never love him which sends him spiralling into depression and self hate. This album is just beautifully written, produced and I cannot express how much I love it. 10000000000000000000000/10[First added to this chart: 08/16/2021]
This is probably the greatest love album ever made. First of all the Lyrics on this is just beautiful, every single word spoken on this album has meaning and whether thats something happy or sad it's truthful. God Only Knows, my favourite song about love ever because every line on that song is so meaningful. The production on this is fantasic with Brian Jones arranging his orchestra for each song making the album sound totally unique. The vocals are outstanding from all the beach boys. Their harmonies are just on another level of beautiful. The story behind this album being made is beautiful on it's own with people telling Brian that this album will be terrible and they gotta keep making hits but he doesn't care, he wants to make what he knows is beautiful. I only wish we lived in a universe where people were more accepting of Brian's ideas then maybe we would've gotten Smile in 1967 and it would've been a masterpiece (I have heard the Smile Sessions and yes I believe it's beautiful) Just this album is an essential listen to anyone its great even as a simple listen people don't need to analyse it to fully enjoy it but trust me fully analysing this album is worth it it's just incredible.[First added to this chart: 08/27/2021]
Frank Oceans masterpiece "Blond" showed the world that uniqueness in music wasn't gone. This is one of those albums that takes time to love. On first listen it might seem weird and unusual but on the third or fourth trust me you'll be having goose bumps. No song on this album sounds similar to one another from the dark synths and high pitched vocals of "Nikes" to the unusual guitar on "Ivy" to the piano rhythm on "Pink + White" each song is a masterpiece in itself. One thing I do love about this album is the skits. The "Facebook Story" and "Be Yourself" are really meaningful speeches put over some nice sounding keyboards which somehow brings a warmth to the heart. My favourite part of this album is the outro on "Futura Free" showing us the interviews of many different people with the interviewer asking questions mainly to do with life. I got no clue why I love this part so much but it just feels so nice hearing it like the outro to TPAB. It just has such a great feeling that you cant even pin point. I hope more music becomes like this in the future for this album just gives off a feeling that no album before this could show.[First added to this chart: 02/06/2022]
This is all of Elvis' best work put onto one vinyl. This is the music Elvis first recorded when he first started as an artist. The way I see it is this is Elvis before he was set up to high expectations. It was simply him being himself and not trying to copy anyone else. The style he brought to songs like "That's Alright" was completely original and after he did it everyone in the world were trying to be just like him. Simply if you wanna hear and Elvis album of songs that sound well worked on almost like an early Beatles album listen to this.
