My top 100 bands/albums

In this chart I list my top/favourite 100 bands.
Of course there are hundreds of bands I like and have enjoyed over my lifetime. In creating this chart I came to the realisation that musical artists ~ be they bands or solo songwriters ~ are like best friends. They have travelled with me through life; sharing the ups & downs; being there whenever I needed to turn to them for pleasure, comfort, inspiration. Lots of these bands I have owned and listened to on vinyl, tape, CD and digitally.
As someone who lived the mid 60's - 70's in real time, the bands of that era became my best friends and remain my favourites. It has been hard to displace any of these long time best friends (we go back more than 50 years now) ~ but occasionally a new band creeps in and takes hold; or a new relationship or life situation brings a new band into my world and I make space for them to also join my growing band of best friend bands.
I also have a soft spot for Australian bands and for bands that live on the fringes of the mainstream ~ and these sentiments are reflected in this chart.
This chart lists my top 100 in alphabetic order, so there is no inherent ranking between bands. Where a band begins with 'The' - I have disregarded the 'The', including for 'The The'.
In time, I will add a comment to flesh out my choices ~ but for now, I will simply list them.
