"Christopher Owen's mother was part of a religious cult which endorsed female prostitution to convert those unfamiliar with the sect. This is not the etymology of missionary position but it is certainly a twisted backdrop for a very talented, and quirky individual to begin his life witnessing. The..."  [+]  Reply

"An abrasive electronic record that sounds absolutely huge. One of the best of 2009 and absolutely deserves a place in the top 20 of the year, kicking off one of the many undeserved mediocre indie rock albums out of its place."  Reply

"At this point, despite having been the most consistent Wu member in terms of his solo albums, I don't know how many would expect to reach the levels of Supreme Clientele again. As far as I'm concerned, he managed to surpass it (admiteddly you could easily argue in favor of any of those two, both ..."  [+]  Reply

"Some of the songwriting here is up there with the very best by the likes of Cat Power, Fiona Apple or Liz Phair. "Chemo Limo" and "Carbon Monoxide" in particular were a real punch, truly heartbreaking. Not all the songs are hits, but overall the album was a very good surprise."  Reply

"Definitely Madonna's greatest album of the 2000's - very soulful, deep, charming.....'Sorry' is my favorite song here but I think 'Push' should've been released as a single. This one differs from other tracks on this album and could have been a hit"  Reply

"You're welcome, Precedent. Just glad you appreciated that, it took me a few listens to. With that, disregard my previous comment, there are so many peaks that make up the album and make it so extra-special."  Reply

"I think this album may even be better than Back to Black. Listen to the song, "Amy, Amy, Amy." It's got a horn, what I think is a snare drum, and just the tiniest hint of guitar, and Amy's voice and her lyrics. Listen to the phrasing of the that song. Her appreciation of Frank Sinatra is apparent..."  [+]  Reply

"i really dug "cee-lo green is the soul machine". It's the kind of smart, fun, playful rap i hadn't heard since p.m. dawn. Kinda reminded me of de la soul too. i also really dug what dj dangermouse did with jay-z's black album. Some moshes didn't work but when they did, like on "Helter Skelter" it..."  [+]  Reply
