"I've been looking for a Black Keys album that worked for me. I am pretty sure this is the one. It's got the rawness of the earlier albums but with better production"  Reply

"This record is good, but the songs are just to damn long. In my opinion, if they had cut the majority of them down to under 5 and a half minutes, then I think it would be a 90. Also, the clipping throughout is really unfortunate."  Reply

"An underrated masterpiece. Red, Powder Blue, Newborn, Asleep in the Back, Scattered Black and White are all breathtaking. Amazed it's not rated higher; Radiohead fans should like this one."  Reply

"Well, this was certainly a strange album. 'Given Up' comes on and I'm expecting this album to be terrible. The guy is screaming and swearing without no real reason. The next song does a complete U turn and is rather pleasant. Next you have Bleed It Out, which isn't as bad as 'Given Up', even a li..."  [+]  Reply

"Because of the little instrumental tracks/vignettes this is not an album that is easy to rate solely on tracks alone but as a whole is second only to Electro Shock Blues in the Eels studio catalogue. It may take a couple of listens to really grow on you so don't give up on it!"  Reply

"They added a lot of new wave and volume to "so jealous" that wasn't there on "if it was you", but the hooks were slightly lost in the process. "The Con" represents the best of their last 2 albums, with all the quick-to-the-point hooks of "if it was you" and the attitude and energy of "so jealous"..."  [+]  Reply

"Dead Cities, Red Seas, & Lost Ghosts is a euphoric album. From beginning to end it is extremely captivating and completely enveloping. The majority of the album is instrumental and the instruments used include synthesizers and drum machines. You might think that this album would get old and borin..."  [+]  Reply

"it saddens me that this album hasn't even broke the top 1,000. lupe is so over-looked as an artist its not even funny, lyricism is mirrored by none, the modern-age Nas. I firmly believe it's one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time, the 2nd best of the 2000s after marshall mathers lp."  Reply

"I also agree that this album is underrated. They obviously understood that they needed to develop a new sound with more range to stay relevant, and they ultimately succeeded wildly. Nimrod planted the seed of experimentation, but this was when the seed sprouted and the sonic shift truly occurred,..."  [+]  Reply
