"Having listened to it thrice today, and knowing the impetus for the record, Javelin stands as Sufjan Stevens's most open-hearted and devastating work to date, even more so than the thorny beauty of his magnificent Carrie & Lowell. Elegiac, wounded, and life-affirming through and through, Javelin ..." [More]

"It's a shame because there is easily a 50 minute 9/10 album in here. The first 4 tracks, track 6, and tracks 10-15 are utterly incredible, and on par with NFR. The interludes and the piano ballads in the middle of the album grind the momentum to a halt, and while the "Taco Truck" part of the last..." [More]

"Never really listened to JPEGMAFIA before this but I'm definitely gonna be checking out some of his other stuff after this, this was great. Super weird and out there, but so good"

"Like if FKA Twigs did hyperpop, a dynamic and innovative statement! This album shows her powerful and versatile vocals, which range from breathy whispers to soaring falsettos. Again she blends of pop, electronic, experimental, trip hop, new wave, and traditional music to creating a dynamic sound ..." [More]

"It's good! I'm not over the moon about any of these artists individually, but I generally like all of them. Consequently, the tracks that each respective member leads usually corresponds with how much I like them on their own. So, I prefer the Julien Baker tracks, then Lucy Dacus, and am less wil..." "Any doubts that they wouldn't recover from Isaac Woods departure are quickly squished with this fantastic live album. Definitely prefer the tracks with Mae Kershaw as the lead vocalist over the male vocalists. Not that Tyler Hyde's and Lewis Evan's vocals are inherently bad, just that with Mae sh..." [More]

"Very much the perfect meeting of the Need-This-Now elements, I can see why Chappel has grown immense social media buzz even if the resulting album feels a bit lacking. Perhaps getting the current it-producer Dan Nigro of Olivia fame sounded better in theory, but the pairing here isn't quite as fr..." [More]
