Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Interesting chart. Good to see some Arctic Monkeys even though I would probably rank their albums the exact opposite way ;)

Ace indeed mate. You have very good taste in music IMHO. I agree that some notes would bring it more alive. But it's an eclectic mix of good albums and there's even some fun ones like Blink 182. Always helps to have some fun ones.

I'm gonna disagree with the current trend in the comments and I'm gonna respect those 5 Green Day albums even though I don't share that love for them, however I feel that there are too many well-considered albums from the most mentioned artists and bands from too many different genres. Still, the chart has quite a few of my favourite albums so I won't give it a bad rating. Some comments to justify those picks would be nice though.
