Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. This is like a more fair and recent update to the rolling Stone list. It is still heavily based in classics, but still manages to get some more of the modern classics included despite only being 100 albums (compared to 500 by RS).

28 albums in common so can't argue with but as others have said broaden your horizons you are the one that will benefit. Try some T. Rex ! I think you might like them.

Finally Sgt. Pepper is marked as the best Beatles LP. Usually it's unfairly beat out by Revolver.

What makes a chart different is perspective. I'd grade ya higher if I knew why you chose Achtung Baby over Boy, or Sticky Finger over Aftermath. But when it comes to great albums they are definitely represented. I don't believe there's an album here anyone could disagree with. Especially not me with 32 albums in common.

Too many albums by too few artists (nearly a quarter of the chart is only seven artists) but most of the albums are fantastic. Kudos
