Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 3% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 89.6/100, a mean average of 90.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 90.8/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 7.1.

A really good chart.
As “tk421ucopy” said, if you look only at the top ten – I actually enjoy working upwards which is tricky to do on this site – you would not expect many of the artists to be found here. There is great variety in this chart – rock, jazz, hip hop and metal being all well-represented – and some artists who are not often seen at least in all-time charts.
Melt-Banana (I recall Mark Prindle praising them), Atheist, Accept, and Herbie Hancock are the most notable “wild cards”, but the other metal artists are refreshing – to somebody who is not a metal fan. Even Big Black is marginally surprising, for although they are well-known I oddly do not recall seeing them on an all-time chart on Best Ever Albums. (My expectation that Big Black are on other all time charts I have verified). In a very different way, I could say the same thing about Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Emergency & I is my favorite album too! Great chart, some picks that i don't have listen yet.
Great chart! Lightning Bolt in the top 10!!! Have you checked out the latest daughters record? I think you might dig it.
A fantastic chart. Gave me some awesome stuff to check out.
A little surprised not to see any Electric Wizard here. Also, I appreciate the diversity of including works by Bjork, Slowdive, and Fleet Foxes, as I didn't really expect to see any of them based on the first page.
This chart is incredible! Definitely going to check out the things here I haven't heard
We don't necessarily have a lot in common but I find your chart very intriguing and love the sporadic descriptions you've got.
Love the eclectic mix of experimental and accessible, really great notes too! Keep 'em coming
This is great!
Brilliant album after brilliant album after brilliant album.
Great great chart. Would love to see more comments! Good work.
Good chart. It seems like you may be getting into jazz, for which I would recommend Miles Davis - In a Silent Way and Herbie Hancock - Crossings. Mind you, I am no expert, and have only explored the genre a little more than you judging by your chart
Also, check out the band Unwound. They make some cool math rock. especially their last album Leaves Turn Inside You
