Surviving the loss of singer Ian Gillan was tough but this is an honest offering with a few very strong pieces (Burn, Mistreated), some surprises (the "modern" keyboard of "A" 200) and no suckies so if you are a DP fan, you have to have this one.

The funkiest DP and the album that nearly killed the band - at least for Blackmore. Makes DP an interesting and more diverse band than first appears in hindsight but I can understand that at the time it must have been a little traumatising to have such an out of character album.

1974 was a rather weak year by 70's standards....so I have to applaud your efforts. I think most of your choices are solid....but the order is a bit out of whack. 461 Ocean Boulevard deserves a much higher rating. I would also recommend Hoyt Axton's Life Machine.

Nice to see so much german bands. (Triumvirat may be a bit overrated and Autobahn is missing but I like it)
