R.I.P Tom. Saw him live in the early years (1981) and in the latter-years (2015). So many great albums, so many great songs, the underrated, understated, always tasty licks f Mike Campbell... The best Tom Petty album is the one that has the most Tom Petty songs. If I can only take 50 albums to a desert island, I'm gonna need to maximize the song output. That's why I have more than a few compilations in my "Best" list.

Tough to pick a favorite album from the Boss, but I will give this live performance the nod. It was an HBO special, the first televised concert by the E-Street band, who'd been estranged from Bruce for nearly a dozen years. I rated this so highly because of the DVD, which I watch annually. Does that count?

here to say I'm jealous that I wasn't in college in 1973 (I was born in '80) and I've always felt I was born in the wrong generation - fabulous list and some that I haven't quite explored yet. I like having people's stories to help walk through them. :) Thanks!

Although there exists an element of the “routine” about this chart, I quite like it. This is because so much of it consists of selections rarely seen on this sort of chart despite my long-term familiarity with them from reading rock criticism so much as two decades ago.
One thing I do very much agree on is that ‘Show Some Emotion’ is not a fraction so well-recognised as it should be.
