I wasn’t sure at first. “It might be the best thing I’ve ever heard, might be the worst”I told a friend after the first listen. Bridge Over Troubled Water

I was born and raised by these lyrical gentlemen, their lullabies and ballads as much my soundtrack as the traffic on the road outside and the wind in the trees.

Only when we revisit and revalue do we realise that only living boy in NY and So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright are hidden gemstones, shining and priceless. The Boxer and Bridge may have more Carats but the former are just as valuable, you know. [First added to this chart: 06/23/2020]

Hounds Of Love

Kate Bush

The payoff for genius - and I’m talking about Prince here as well - is that consistency must come a poor second to creativity. How impressive then that the world’s most brilliantly original female singer songwriter manages to hit the bullseye here so often. Of the 12 songs here fully 11 are brilliant.
