"Formula jazz, opening statement, everyone gets a solo, drum solo, repeat the opening and end. When this pattern started to play out in Parisian Thoroughfare I bailed. Nice and all but not very inventive."  Reply

"If your pseudo-music expert friends keep throwing around the term "Paisley Underground" and do not cite this album in their analysis, then it's time to call your pseudo-music expert friends on their BS!!! 1982's "The Days of Wine & Roses" would be situated at the top of my Paisley Underground lis..."  [+]  Reply

"God, Brotherhood is so well-written that, yeah, the production is a bit muddy, but track-for-track, it's incredibly solid. Weirdly, the best and most famous song from the record "Bizarre Love Triangle" doesn't really fit, but who am I to argue with a great track?"  Reply

"Fantastic album, criminally underrated - how this isn't even in the top 1000 confounds me. This album perhaps sees the Lips at their most versatile, the album with the most dynamic range - rocking hard on one song to creating astounding beautiful music on the next and not a weak track here (well,..."  [+]  Reply

"Fashionable to bash (even though I didn't think Phil really lost it until But Seriously when he got too AC) but if you were there in 1985, you know you owned a copy. And there are some solid tracks here even if Sussudio wasn't a career highlight."  Reply

"This album isn't easy to rate. Despite being a big Chuck Berry fan, I'm left a bit disappointed with this record. Nearly half the album are instrumentals, and none of them are all that interesting. There are still good tracks to be found here especially on the re-issue version that I own and am r..."  [+]  Reply

"This album is a ‘little’ gem and in my opinion enhances Weiland’s legacy as a pioneering progressive artist. I don’t think it challenges Purple but I think it surpasses Core as an artistic statement. I agree with the comment below in regards to initially being disappointed upon its release. I was..."  [+]  Reply
