Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Interesting chart
Adorei o teu chart apesar de apenas 15 albuns em comum quando puderes vê o meu e diz o que achas. Quanto ao 1o lugar se é Pink Floyd claro que concordo.
Bons discos, apesar de um pouco repetitivo na escolha dos artistas. Senti falta de comentários e (ou) notas dos discos

I think the lack of recognition of music from the modern era stems from a strong classic rock orientation on this chart, with even the more modern picks looking to the late 60s and 70s for their musical aesthetic.
I appreciate your love of hard rock, but I find it difficult to warm to a chart in which Black Sabbath alone made five albums better than all but two of the 21st century, both of which were by the same band (QOTSA).
very good list. I like Animals but I don't think it is Floyd's best.
