1987: My Dad was a huge Stones guy. When I was a baby he used to rock me and hum the riff from "Miss You." The riff always stuck with me, although I didn't know what song it was. 1992: My folks had the 64-67 albums on vinyl, but this was one of the first CDs I remember getting. I'm pretty sure it was for Christmas. At the time, I didn't even care for the music (except for "Hello, Goodbye") I much preferred the pop hits of earlier "Beatlemania." 1995: One of the most traumatic moments in my life was when I was at home with a babysitter, and there was an armed break-in. I was hiding in my room, and the intruders turned on the downstairs stereo system. "Smells Like Teen Spirit" exploded throughout the house. The song and album still give me goosebumps. 1997: I didn't really listen to popular music until the late 90s. Before then it was pretty much just 60s and 70s rock and roll. First time I got "beat up" by an older kid I remember him singing "I wanna push you around." Later I took my first girlfriend to see them live. So, lotta firsts to this album.
