Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Busdriver, DJ Rashad, Danny Brown, Flying Lotus, Kendrick Lamar, Perfume Genius, Rustie... brilliant list.
Yeah...pretty much the same reaction for me that you had with my list. A reasonable number of albums in common (19 I think) but definitely not in sync with what order to put them in. You're probably are more familiar with the albums on my list - you just aren't diggin' them (can't see you appreciating the Black Keys or Kings of Leon). In all honesty, I have never even heard of at least half of the albums on your list. The ones I don't have that I am familiar with, I'm just not a fan of. Don't have much use for rap or hip hop. Not sure what's going on with the Death Grip album covers but I have to say they are a little offputting. Some common ground with Modern Vampires of the City. I didn't really get into the first two albums and was a reluctant fan of Modern Vampires but I have really grown to dig it. Cheers
