Marvin Talking to us about the Vietnam war , hatred, ecological issues in a concept album
This Album music is like flying and the lyrics some of the better for protesting out there, this one was the first record Marvin Produced and has aged beautiful and in my opinion the best Motown Album in existence
We have to take in count Marvin was passing into a failed marriage with Anna Gordy, his partner Tammi Terrell and with a cocaine addiction ending with a failed attempt of suicide with a shotgun
This Album too is an experience and everybody should hear it
Progressive Soul / Psychedelic Soul / Symphonic Pop / R&B
Mercy Mercy Me / Inner City Blues / What's Happening Brother [First added to this chart: 08/02/2019]
The Best Double Album of All Time!
Talking just of Musical and Voice Perfection? this is, this is it, a human cant go any further than this
Stevie was thinking of quiting music before making this Album, put than on perspective, how many projects havent we been denied cause of an artist death or that they just give up to music, we are extremely lucky Stevie didnt do hat
Yet again he plays half of the instrumentation, compose the music and lyrics and produced it, this man is literally the definition of Pure Talent, we have some happy songs, some introspective songs, some ballads, a musical journey of the heart as no other, i can play this if im sad, if im happy, sun, rain, this album matches perfectly any emotion of the human being
R&B / Progressive Soul / Avant-Pop
Fav Songs: As / Isnt She Lovely / Another Star [First added to this chart: 08/02/2019]
Stevie Wonder has to be one of the most talented musicians if not the most talented
Stevie grow from a child prodigy to an all time great, when Motown finally let stevie do whatever he wanted with his music this kind of albums stevie provided, perfect album, every song here is great, no filler, no bad song}
He almost play every instrument on this project (Piano, Drums, Vocals, Synthesizers, Harmonica, Clavinet, Congas) even he did Backing Vocals, This album and Songs in the Key of Life are the perfect example of what a talented man can achieve
You can help to sing or to dance to this well crafted songs and i love it
Progressive Soul / Funk / Soul / Jazz / Rock

Top 100 Music Albums of the 1970s ratings
Average Rating = (n ÷ (n + m)) × av + (m ÷ (n + m)) × AVwhere:
av = trimmed mean average rating an item has currently received.
n = number of ratings an item has currently received.
m = minimum number of ratings required for an item to appear in a 'top-rated' chart (currently 10).
AV = the site mean average rating.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 13% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 87.4/100, a mean average of 88.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.3/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 12.6.

This guy must be a fan of Jorge Luis Borges given the number of Argentine artists that are on this chart. Solid list.
Great to see so much Stevie Wonder love on your seventies chart! I remember listening to Stevie a lot as a kid, and he's remained in regular rotation in my record collection ever since. Great chart!
...close to perfection...
I love the chart.
Great selections. A few of them are new to me, so I put them on my watchlist.
hello again dude
I listened to the Jose Jose album Lo Pasado, Pasado.
Although I read he is popular round the world I hadn't heard of him.
It is a really good album. He has a good voice. I liked the title track best, and his Billy Joel cover.
And I read Frank Sinatra was a fan and a friend of his. Talented guy.
so thank you, it's good to discover new artists.
47 albums in common
awesome list man
many, many Yes-es from me.
good work
I think the 70s was the best decade for albums.
the 50's were dynamic and the 60s were revolutionary but the 70s was such a fertile time for music.
It's my favourite decade.
If I could just put Beatles, psychedelic Floyd, Sam Cooke and Etta James' 60s albums into the 70s decade it would be the ultimate!
great chart Dude.
Definitely your best list.
On top of that, 40 albums in common.
I guess it's not difficult for the 70s. Everyone pretty much agrees on that era of music.
35 in common with my 70's chart!
Nice chart, with a fair bit of variety. I will be checking out Jose Jose and may be back to update the rating.
Man, these super specific album ratings for the top 3 spots are cracking me up.
