This was the year I began the move from vinyl to CD. I bought my first CD after holding out for years. Why? Vinyl was becoming harder to find, more expemsove and my record player broke down.

Thurston sent tapes of guitar tracks, enclosed in vacuum cleaner bags, to several artists to try to put together something coherant out of them. the results were then used as background music for a gallery installation with art by many of the participants.
