"Rich layers of instrumention, enjoyable if not all that impressive. Maybe at bit overproduced at times - everything but the kitchen sink, sort of thing. Bit too much keyboard. I liked the funky bass, guitars and horns. Some good moments when they let their players riff, e.g. end of "Revolution 19..." [+] Reply
"I suppose that with a compilation like this you'll get some unnecessary tracks, such as sitting through 3 takes of "Communication Breakdown", but you should come to this looking for those brief moments where your ear is surprised. "After 2 run of the mill 90's alternative grunge albums, Neon Ballroom follows with and attempt to branch out. The album is uneven with melodic pop songs intermixed with rehashed grunge songs.
