Strange. This was the first album that i didn't like from Yes at first. But with some extra spins, i got a special care for this sound, and it suddenly became my personal favourite album of all. "We once knew so well"? [First added to this chart: 10/05/2013]

Masterpiece, not only one in progressive rock in general, but in history of music too. The musical evolution of the band reached the peak with this album. Great passages of organ and keys of Wakeman, the union of their abilities with beauty in their music... Hear by yourself! [First added to this chart: 10/05/2013]

THE album of Genesis. The creative force of the band, plus the marvelous capacity of creating sonic lyrics and songwriting makes Selling England By the Pound one of their finest works. Try Firth of Fifth or Cinema Show. [First added to this chart: 10/05/2013]

The quality and production of the their songs on this album are in top shape. Some songs with beautiful melodies, some very nice and catchy, and the "medley" was a great idea. Too bad that The End didn't was the last song, but is a flawless masterpiece. [First added to this chart: 10/05/2013]

"When you eat right fruit you see everything alive
it is inside spirit, with enough grit to survive
If you think it's pretentious, you've been taken for a ride
Look across the mirror, before you choose decide" (It)
How they can create such concept of Rael and John, and put a story so-so like this?

Wow. In this algum, Peter Hammils, sings, talks, screams with all the strength and soul in this album, every member of the band unleashes a great wave of feeling and beauty in Still Life. The philosophical meaning of the songs is also marvelous! One of the most underrated bands of progressive rock (in its period). [First added to this chart: 10/05/2013]

Ain't easy to make a great, incredible concept, with a complex style and lenght of song(s), and make it sound coherent. But jethro Tull made their masterpiece here. [First added to this chart: 10/05/2013]

This is a classic, who helped to define what is progressive rock. The mellotron-oriented sound, the complexity, and intelligent lyrics, and the exploration of a variety of sounds made In the Court of the Crimson King a innovator album at the time. [First added to this chart: 10/05/2013]

Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 3% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 89.8/100, a mean average of 89.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 91.1/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 11.3.

I love the multilingual chart. I'm trying to figure out if we are clones or twins seperated at birth?

Congratulation, the chart is marvellous. Probably too much 70's but the quality of your picks is very high. Also there are some unknown albums to take a look.

People, try Depois do Fim by Bacamarte. Is a jewel.

Personally I put Genesis above Yes, but any chart that has The Lamb in its top 10 is ok by me.

Você já ouviu a fase progressiva dos Mutantes (A e o Z, Tudo Foi Feito Pelo Sol)? O que acha? Apesar de não gostar muito assim de rock progressivo, eu ouvia bastante esses dois álbuns.
