After some solid works, Mikael Akerfeldt's boys reach the perfection in this rollercoaster of rythms among wrecking growls and smooth melodies that makes of "Blackwater Park" an intense walk over the mud from start to finish -including "Still Day Beneath The Sun" and "Patterns In The Ivy II, the two fantastic bonus tracks-. One of the better BEA member recommendations I have received. This album is a non stop of music that gets you to centuries ago to the Sumerian Empire in a sort of progressive opera which catches you and doesn't let go. It contains lots of instrumental riches with a neat treatment of the sampler. [First added to this chart: 05/16/2014]

♥♥♥ Windowpane / ♥♥ In My Time Of Need / ♥ Death Whispered a Lullaby
Is impossible not to fall in love with this album since its first listen to even if you aren't an Opeth fan. The lack of growlings maybe lets that. And probably not so outstanding quality and depth as Blackwater Park but has a peace and a harmony which gets to relax all your senses. Tool is one of the most deep, complex and unique bands of the contemporary music history which makes hard the access to it and 10.000 days is no exception. Aggressive, hostil, suffocating, somber...
