1983 was a strange year. My football team were champions and I spent more money and time on them than music. This probably had an impact on the previous year as well. I am sure I might have missed out on some great music. This is what I did get.

The Go-betweens were such a great band. There's lightning on the hill tonight and then the organ stutters in. His Father's watch, he left it in the showers.

I saw the video for In The Neighbourhood on TV and went out and bought my first Tom Waits album the next day. I now have many other albums by Tom Waits, but this is still my favourite.

The Fall are my favourite band and they produced loads of great albums. There will be plenty in my charts.

This is another great Bunnymen album with a nother great sleeve. I am particularly fond of this one as this is the music they were touring with when I saw them for the first time.

This album has such great emotion. I can remember with my mates driving to Forfar for a night out with this on the car stereo. All four of us were singing along to the songs. We had to stop in a lay by just so we could get out and dance in the road as the music was blasting out of the open doors!

I had this album with the free 12" of dogs barking and songs and stuff. I deeply regeret selling it when I needed some extra cash. Great album.
