Favorite Tracks: Little Fury Things, Kracked, The Lung, Raisins, Tarpit
I'll be grazing by your window
Please come pat me on the head
I just want to find out what you're nice to me for
When I look up, don't think I don't know
About all the scabs you dread
It's hard to stomach the gore [First added to this chart: 09/03/2021]
Favorite Tracks: Never Find a Girl, The Next Time, Standing Time
This album means so much to me. I discovered it while cleaning out my grandmothers house. There is no other album that comes close to comforting me as this one does. [First added to this chart: 06/29/2022]
Favorite Tracks: Bonny, Horsin' Around, When the Angels
My personal favorite "80s" album. Yknow, it just sounds like the 80s. Even so, Paddy's songwriting just brings the album to a whole new level. There's just something different about this album.
I spend the days with my vanity
I'm lost in heaven and I'm lost to earth
Didn't give you minutes not even moments
All my life in a tower of foil
Shaded feelings, don't believe you
When you were there before my eyes
No one planned it took it for granted [First added to this chart: 05/07/2021]
Favorite Tracks: Taking Too Long, When It's Over, Youth of America [First added to this chart: 07/26/2021]
It's fast, it's hard, it's bluesy, and it's just so fun. Punk but with actual artistic songwriting value. And those harmonies.. oh those harmonies are so good. At least check out The World's a Mess, it's in my Kiss.
You can't take it back
Pull it out of the fire
Pull it out in the bottom of the ninth
Pull it out in chords of red disease
Drag on the system
Drag on my head and body
Some facts here (some facts here!)
Which refuse to escape
I could say it stronger
But it's too much trouble
I was wandering down at the bricks
Hectic, isn't it?
Down we go, cradle and all
No one is united
And all things are untied
Perhaps we're boiling over inside
They've been telling lies
Who's been telling lies?
There are no angels
There are devils in many ways
Take it like a man [First added to this chart: 04/27/2021]
Quite possible the most mind-boggling listen for anyone. It's noisy, and then it's not. It's rough, and then it's not. Essentially microtonal/atonal contemporary classical but with rock instruments and just about the most creative use of them in any music. Truly enlightening. [First added to this chart: 06/16/2021]
North American release
Tracks: India, Sister Europe, Pulse, Fall, We Love You, Soap Commercial, Imitation of Christ, Wedding Song, Flowers
The most creative post-punk album. Richard Butler's singing is just so unique. From the album structure to the songwriting, everything is just perfect.
Imitation of Christ
This you who lie and scream
You fall to dust
You fall to dust
In walls of words
Your words are blind
You speak and you are dumb and blind
The word that is your god
Is you who fall so low and fall so far
Imitation of Christ [First added to this chart: 12/03/2020]
Synth-Punk implies the existence of post-synth-punk. This is it. Peter Hook is my favorite bassist, and Age of Consent might just be my favorite song ever. This album walks the line in the history of New Order where they had shifted enough away from Joy Divison to be true post-punk anymore, yet they still hadn't become full-on dance yet. It is the most wonderful mix of both. Also, the cover is just gorgeous.
Won't you please let me go
These words lie inside they hurt me so
And I'm not the kind that likes to tell you
Just what I want to do
I'm not the kind that needs to tell you
Just what you want me to
I saw you this morning
I thought that you might like to know
I received your message in full a few days ago
I understood every word that it said
And now that I've actually heard it
You're going to regret [First added to this chart: 05/11/2021]

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 1% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 92.6/100, a mean average of 94.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 95.0/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 6.4.

This must be about the best chart I have ever seen. Its composition is like nothing else I have seen on this site or anywhere else, has some quite good notes (though I will say that they could do more than discuss the best tracks and look at each album’s wider importance) and many very unsual albums. The song list, too, is very good.
¡Dios mío! la mitad de los álbumes que están aquí no los conozco. Me diste algo para escuchar, grandioso chart.
Tu lista de canciones también es muy interesante.
English review
OMG! Half of the albums that are here I don't know. You gave me something to listen to, great chart.
Your track list is also very interesting
Team Dresch!!! Killer selection, my friend! Quite diverse!
Thank you so much for you rating and comment Seb! I will be happy to listen to your recommendation quite soon <3
I really love your chart as well and your notes are awesome.
fantastic chart.
It starts nicely with some classics, but it shows some pretty unknown and interesting picks besides the mainstream.
Nice chart, as far as 60s/70s-centric charts go, this one is right up my alley. Personally my chart is more slanted towards the recent decades, but this is great.
I'll have to listen to the Philippine albums here
Very nice. Lots of my favorites here. I got to give Quicksilver Messenger Service a try.
So Time Out is back on! I really like your list still. Good stuff. A little bit too 70s oriented, which is okay since it's such a great decade for music, but I like to see diversity through out the decades and genres. It just shows more of an open mind but eh... I get it. My original list had nearly 40 entries for the 90s lol.
merry christmas
Cool stuff Great Number 1
