Top 28 Greatest Music Albums by knels94

NOTE: 1) I am currently limited to 50 on this chart
2) I tried to limit this to mostly only albums I own (which at the moment isn't a ton)
3) I decided to add my own little bit to the chart. The rankings AREN'T necessarily in order of albums I think are BEST, but favorites, a lot of rankings are based on sentimental value, memories associated with the album, things the music has gotten me through. I do this not as a "cop out" but to add a personal touch to my chart and because I think that is a strong part of music, the memories tied to it and listening to it to remember those times.
4) I am new to the site and I am just now starting to introduce myself to different music. Suggestions are MORE than welcome!

Any album that opens with "Seven Nation Army" is off to a great start. The hypnotic faux bass riff lays the foundation for a strong opening to the album. Songs like "Hardest Button to Button" and "Girl, You Have No Faith in Medicine" hold the listener's attention while Jack does what he does best in "Ball and Biscuit." Elephant is a record that has always stood out to me and probably always will as track after track delivered. Jack and Meg stuck to their strengths, but also allowed for some experimentation in tracks like "In the Cold, Cold, Night," in which Meg takes over lead vocals.

Best Track: "From the Ritz to the Rubble"
An absolute classic from a favorite band. As much as I enjoy what AM has been kicking out recently, it is hard to beat their first effort. The energy and punkish lyricism of Alex Turner is contagious.

Best Track: "Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)
A masterpiece. The background of what band members were going through when this album came out and their inspiration only adds to why this album will stand the test of time as one of the greatest albums ever.

This is the first album that I listened to that could be classified as "experimental." At first, the album just didn't seem to stack up to the critical acclaim that it had received; to me, it just seemed like a lot of noise, thrown together and burned to a CD. But after sticking with it, and listening to it over a few times, I began to understand and appreciate the true beauty in the kaleidoscopic sounds and tracks that this album puts together. There is great cohesion between tracks, and transitions come real smoothly.

The Stripes breakthrough is widely considered to be one of their greatest, if not their best. This album displayed the duo's talents at their best and most simplistic. From rock tracks like "Dead Leaves..." to the more soft "We're Going to Be Friends," WBC offered the best of all bases that the Stripes cover so very well.

Picking a favorite Muse album is always a struggle. While I certainly prefer albums like Absolution, Black Holes&Revelations, and this one over their two most recent releases, picking a favorite is still a chore. I believe that Absolution has more cohesion as an overall album, but Origin just has too much going for it. Starting out with the ever popular "New Born," this album hits its streak early by leading into songs like "Bliss" and "Citizen Erased." This album has a little of everything, powerful guitar solos, meaningful and contemplative lyrics, and even a cover of "Feeling Good." Origin is hard to beat and remains my #1 Muse album.
Best Track: "Plug in Baby" I mean, it is basically a ballad to Matt's guitar, how awesome is that?

Nice start to your chart. I would recommend something like Forever Changes, that's a pretty decent classic, but assuming you may have already heard that...

Try either 'Up The Bracket' by The Libertines or 'The Libertines'. Both class albums.

Anyway, keep it going.
