I know some people think Motorhead are nothing but noise. Listen to their really great albums like Overkill and you will think differently.

Tons of Purple albums could go on my list, another underappreciated band.

I am not a major country fan but some of the older stuff has its moments. This is a classic.

I like all kinds of rock and always thought this was one of the better hair band era releases.

The trio has put out several noteworthy releases but there is just something special about the early stuff.

Top 50 Greatest Music Albums ratings
Average Rating = (n ÷ (n + m)) × av + (m ÷ (n + m)) × AVwhere:
av = trimmed mean average rating an item has currently received.
n = number of ratings an item has currently received.
m = minimum number of ratings required for an item to appear in a 'top-rated' chart (currently 10).
AV = the site mean average rating.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 82.4/100, a mean average of 80.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.0/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 13.2.

What a great mix of rock and chalk me as someone who loves hair and glam metal, wonderful genre.

I certainly wouldn't call hair/glam metal crappy. A lot of people enjoyed it when it was around and a lot of people still enjoy it. But this is definitely one of the better lists I've seen on here. There's a ton of albums I like, and a bunch I really want to check out. It's nice to see another Triumph fan too, vastly underrated band!

There's a good bit of crappy hair on this list, but the underrated gems (JLP, Blizzard of Ozz, Piece of Mind, Styx, etc.) more than make up for it.

While the 80's metal is mostly not my thing, it is nice to see bands like Junkyard on your list.
