The Harder They Come
Soundtrack compilation
"A very good collection of songs here. The first one, You Can Get It If You Really Want, was the strongest for me. Most the tracks on this album are very uplifting in their mood and there are few which I would call weak. Harder They Come and Sitting In Limbo are also highlights."  Reply

"My favorite Santana album, which is not always easy to explain to people; but looking at the comments here and reflecting on the number of randomly met people who have joined in the opinion, perhaps I shouldn't bother?"  Reply

"Why is this ranked so low? Jim Croce was one of the best songwriters of all time, not to mention a fantastic guitarist, singer and storyteller. He was in the same social circle as Arlo Guthrie, James Taylor and Jimmy Buffett, and I think he was simply the most talented of the four."  Reply

"It was a consistently good seller(Reprise MS 2064) throughout the 70s and 80s and got a lot of airplay in the same period, especially for "Political Science" and "Sail Away". One of my favorite albums and IMO his best, but also check out Randy Newman Live and "I think its going to rain today". I ..."  [+]  Reply

"Mingus's own personal favourite of all of his albums and not hard to see why. Constructing "buildings of jazz" it seems in deferrence to the primitism of much of the jazz fusion wave that was around at the time. The architects have hit the spot and the view from the top floor is impressive. Shame..."  [+]  Reply

"First saw Heep at the Wakes Arms pub in Essex (UK) in July 1970 and they are still going strong 50 years later, although Mick Box lead guitar is the only member of that original lineup. This album is probably their best as more than any other it highlights Ken Hensley's song writing abilities tac..."  [+]  Reply

"It may not be fair, but I have always less appreciated the work of Schulze (who left Tangerine Dream (TD) because of artistic differences with Edgar Froese in 1970) than TD's. As a young boy you may need variety. Possibly it was difficult for me at that time to appreciate the musical and artistic..."  [+]  Reply

"My favourite prog album after Genesis' Foxtrot and SEBTP. Actually there is no 19 minutes electric caribbean viola jam in 15/4 on this album, just simple rock songs, but which all have a clear prog trajectory, with unusual instruments, some time signatures changes, and many structure variations i..."  [+]  Reply

"Lovely soul album from Al Green. The timeless title track is absolutely beautiful and there's plenty of other strong songs on this great record. He made some fine albums in the seventies. This is one of them."  Reply
