Top 50 Greatest Music Albums ratings

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 83.4/100, a mean average of 78.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 81.9/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 15.4.

Hard to fault this chart really.
Extemely similar to my chart. Only real difference is that I don't share your enthusiasm for hip hop/rap. I know Kanye is supposed to be genius and everything but I don't get it. Gotta say I've always thought Pet Sounds was grossly over rated. This is a stellar chart though.
Sweet chart, half of them are on my own. Just a couple of personal pref. differ.
Technically it's solid, but it's also a bit...dull. I think if you venture outside of the established canon somewhat you'll find a lot to like.
Very, very good!
Holy crap! It's like my chart #2. Not so sure about U2, Dre & The Sly greatest hits, but the rest is great. Try some Flaming Lips or The Who.
