Top 50 Greatest Music Albums ratings
Average Rating = (n ÷ (n + m)) × av + (m ÷ (n + m)) × AVwhere:
av = trimmed mean average rating an item has currently received.
n = number of ratings an item has currently received.
m = minimum number of ratings required for an item to appear in a 'top-rated' chart (currently 10).
AV = the site mean average rating.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 78.8/100, a mean average of 77.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.8/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 15.2.

100, just for having In Rainbows at 1
some great albums on your list :)
I love Radiohead and Led Zeppelin so I don't mind at all how top heavy your chart is with them. You're obviously not a fan of the Beatles which is fine to each their own. Many people like Dylan, Springsteen and U2 none of which I have ever been crazy about. Very good list though!!
Nice picks,I'm beginning to get a grip of Led Zeppelin stuffs.Anyway I love your avatar image;)
haha true, although i've heard most of the albums on your list and enjoyed them, just not enough to make my list
Agree with GARY
like your chart, i have to say that i know and ive heard almost all the albums of your chart, but i find myself always going back to the old stuff. What can i say, i love the classic rock :) On the other hand, you know, i think the first album of the Arctic Monkeys is better than the second one!
Awesome chart! I loved In Absentia so I'll definitely check out Fear of a Blank Planet.
radiohead is the bomb
Decent chart but the lack of variety is obvious here. you need to spread it a bit my friend.
