Dream pop, baroque pop

I was always intrigued by this album, but I didn't listen to it enough times before I decided that it was good but not great. coming back to it changed my mind completely. what Julia holter's doing on this album is insane, and I wouldn't be surprised if this album becomes a lot more respected in a decade or two. she's just so unafraid of waiting it out, which really works in her favor, especially when the payoff is an entrancing, majestic, psychedelic, and totally left-field climax. she creates a whole different world, and that's just about the best thing an album can offer in my opinion.

"Silhouette" as a whole is kind of a weird song but the last minute or so with the building strings is really good and intense.

Trip hop, post punk

I thought it was cool the first time I heard it, and it only gets better with each listen. he has such a huge range of styles on here, but it never sounds forced. there's more straightforward indie songs like "Czech One", "Biscuit Town", and "Dum Surfer", but there's also songs that border on post-hardcore, like "The Locomotive" and "Emergency Blimp", and there's tons of more electronic ambient songs that act as transitions between songs, but also have enough going on to be interesting and good in their own right. king krule came upon a one-of-a-kind sound for this album that takes influence from a multitude of artists and will probably influence as many artists in the future.

I absolutely love the part in "Dum Surfer" about halfway through the guitar solo when everything finally comes together and makes for a beautiful outro to the song. "Emergency Blimp" actually does the same thing, come to think of it.

Lo-fi rap, jazz rap

the fact that three of the most beautiful, personal, and artistic albums of the decade have come from the Loiter Squad baffles me, but it makes me so happy to see all the main Odd Future members coming into their own as songwriters, producers, and artists.

Ambient pop, psychedelic r&b

well at this point I'm just waiting until blonde is considered one of the best albums of all time. cause the time is gonna come, and I think it'll be soon. it's such a flawless album, and it's honestly so much better than channel Orange, even though I love that one too. some of the lines he drops are so good too, especially on "Nikes" where he says "We don't talk much or nothin, but when we're talking bout somethin we have good discussion," "He don't care for me, but he cares for me, and that's good enough," and "I'm not him but I'll mean something to you." You can really tell Frank went into another place emotionally when he made this album, and it really paid off because this is an exceptional album.

my favorite part has to be the change-up on "Nights" with the weird guitar section leading into the really smooth r&b ending.
