As far as I am concerned this is the album that defined the 00s indie scene. Superior to anything that Arctic Monkeys did, any day of the week.

This is the album that kept The Beatles fresh, just when people were beginning to wonder if The Beatles could evolve with popular music, this record removed any shadow of a doubt. It is often referred to as a great album for a reason, there is something for everyone on it. Those who don't enjoy A Day In The Life will most certainly enjoy With A Little Help From My Friends and so on and so forth.

Easily my favourite Dylan album. It shows a level of maturity that other albums lack, he also seems just as comfortable on the tracks that are backed by a band like "Tangled Up In Blue" as the solo tracks like "Shelter From The Storm". It seems like Dylan was on his best form since the mid 60s and as far as I'm concerned it is one of the man's many career highlights.

Radiohead's Sophomore album matures so well compared with some of their other work. I think all but two of their albums are borderline masterpieces but there's something about The Bends that just doesn't exist in other Radiohead albums. I do prefer OK Computer but I feel that there is something, albeit minute, missing. The Bends just satisfies me more as an album, but sadly the overall tracklisting just isn't quite as good as its follow-up.

This album is The Smiths' first effort working with Stephen Street, and the difference from its predecessor is astounding. Street's production really lifts this album to dazzling new heights.

As good a follow up to Different Class as Pulp could have made. Consistently darker and all the more excellent for it.

If I have any complaints about this album, it's the production. It is woefully under produced but behind that lies a certain charm. The album is excellent past that detriment. The pure Wildean poetry in Morrissey's lyrics and haunting melodies in Marr's guitar work and Andy Rourke's horrendously underrated bass work on not only this but every Smiths album. Echoes of something great.

My least favourite of The Smiths' albums but still, in its own way, a masterpiece. I do like the way that this album has left its mark on the collective consciousness of modern British music and how it is so fondly remembered by seemingly everyone, even though I feel it is the weakest of The Smiths' albums, To each his own. This being said, it is the Smiths album that I remember the most fondly. Buying cheap in a second hand CD shop and putting it onto my phone, listening to it on my way to work one day made me fall in love with this band. The band that have defined my adolescence up to this point in my life. A band that have been my favourite since hearing that last chord on There is a Light That Never Goes Out have been my favourite act of all time.

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 86.4/100, a mean average of 82.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 86.7/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 19.5.

I checked Tilt - it was great. If you like that kinda stuff you should really check out Nico's solo stuff, honestly so similar, I'd check 'Desertshore' and 'Marble Index' which are both very similar dark avant-garde kinda music. Also, sorta similar, you should check out Popol Vuh though they're not exactly like 'Tilt', they share some similarities in the atmospheric noises - 'Hosianna Mantra' would be the place to start, and 'In Den Garten Pharaos' is good too.
