Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Too much Coldplay, too much smiths, still Pearl Jam and Floyd rock. Doors as well

Too much coldplay, too much conventional pickings but seems to be evolving.

I like your chart, it has some great moments. Too much Coldplay in my opinion, and dont get me wrong, I love their old stuff a lot. "I'm With You" by the RHCP, weird choice.

Not a whole lot of variety in your choice of artists, really. Nearly half is taken up by 5 artists. BUT...obviously a work in progress. Interested to see how it progresses.
paI just didn't like led zeppelin IV so far, but ok list
