Psyche is possibly my favourite song, the singers voice is top quality and good to see Massive Attack purely using instruments which they hadn't done before for an album. They have a new album out this year apparently and looking forward to that as they are one of my very favourite artists. "  [+]  Reply

This is no flop. Not even close. This is an incredible album I don't care whether its hip hop, alternative rock, or some imaginary genre that paladisiac decided to make up to try to describe music that is so fresh and so clean clean. I hate genres...also Big Boi didn't learn what he knows from Andre 3000! Big Boi has always known exactly what he was doing and it's no different now... anyway that is beside the point. When people talk about your favorite hard rock album as "just a bunch of screaming," or some analogous criticism, you naturally think to yourself "well they just don't understand this type of music." Its the same thing here, and I can tell you because I woulda rated this a 20/100 probably just one year ago. Now Lorde is in my top 20. It's just an exposure thing. This makes the first part fly by and so for an album that is quite long it does not drag as much as you would think it would. The record feels very compact and consistent as well and I do think that is mainly down to the production which is very strong. There are so many fantastic songs on here as well that are just waiting to be explored and moments that deserve to be listened to. However, the music can feel slow at times and I do believe there is a few parts you could cut out which don't really add anything to the music. There are a few songs that don't hit the same as the great tracks but are still pretty decent. Unfortunately, it does feel a little empty and bare sometimes but that can also add to the raw nature of the music which makes it more accessible to us. Overall, while it isn't their best album it is still very solid and deserves a listen. "  [+]  Reply
