"Some are aware of Mann's soundtrack to "Magnolia." This is the album those songs (mostly) came from. It's one of the darkest, most tuneful things you'll ever hear -- as if Joni Mitchell went pop, slick, and sarcastic. The first few listenings may leave you wondering why you bought it . ..."  [+]  Reply

"Lanegan has one of greatest rock voices of all times, and he uses it at his best on this album. A blast from beginning till end, and another great duet (this time with PJ Harvey). Would trade this album for the entire top 20 of 2004, apart from the Arcade Fire and Nick Cave albums."  Reply

"The first four songs and the last song are WT classics, and among their best material. The rest? Meh...more the same. Still, those five songs are enough to make this a critical release for the genre. This album showed that WT was better than Evanescence."  Reply

"In my opinion this is one of the best albums of the new millenium. It launched John Mayer into superstardom. He's a better guitar player than given credit for and these songs are really catchy. They still hold up 10 years later."  Reply

"Tom waits described his new album as 'cubist funk', and on the brilliant second track, hoist this rag, you can see what he means. Real gone, is probably Tom Waits' most challenging record. It's full of clattering blues and beautiful acoustic based songs. Opener, top of the hill, is scratchy rock ..."  [+]  Reply

"A consistent album of filler with some of the bands best songs. A Little Piece of Heaven, Afterlife and Crtical Acclaim are awesome. They´ve done better, but this album is still badass."  Reply

"Pure excitement with lots of great, great songs. The album is much more then radio friendly dance pop. This thing got a shining world of music in it. But it's just too bad that apparently it's the only album of the band that I can really listen."  Reply
