Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 77.0/100, a mean average of 73.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.4/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 17.3.

Unusual mix of classics, modern stuff and some very personal choices. Can't say I agree with all the choices, particularly some of the new stuff but I admire the chart a lot.

I like a lot of the choices, but I just loathe others. More than anything, I admire how novel and personalized this is, even if I don't love so many of the entries here.

Obviously some very controversial picks, but that's what makes this list awesome. Besides, Evanescence fucking rock!!! Fallen was the album of my elementary school years

@Jackwc
haha thanks for having my back, but I don't think their comment was so unreasonable
but thanks anyway :D

@sulmagnificent
I know what you mean, I just don't judge albums purely on intellectual value. Bon Jovi was my favourite band when I was really young, so they had to be there. Evanescence is just my favourite band, amazing singing, and songs which to me have lasting value. P!nk is just overall a very fun singer, which I see as "great"; and the album I have as number 3 is actually quite a 'smart' album for a mainstream pop artist.

Bon Jovie, Evanescence, Pink?

For me this could as easily be the worst albums ever as the greatest ones...

But music is subjective I guess, maybe I am mistaking (ironically) "great" for "showing intellectual value"
