The greatest indie record is also the best of the 90s. Jeff Mangum creates a indie rock anthem, strips it down to the bare bones to make it indie folk, and, only then, adds the energy that makes this record so distinctive.

The definitive "brain-burning" album (it means it will burn your brain as much as Fight Club or Blade Runner). Wish You Were Here is unbeatable in its field, and was for many time my favorite record. I recall even placing it No. 1 on my first chart on the website.

Excellent! Man, if you consider this a classic *just* because the closing track is A Day in the Life, you should reconsider your view. I mean it, but not because I'm trying hard to be an asshole, or because I think A Day in the Life sucks (I'm not trying to express neither), but because this is a HELL OF AN ALBUM. Really. I'm not that much of a Beatles fan, or a Beach Boys fan, or a 60s pop fan, or etc. But this, man, this is the real deal. The songs are fucking great. A Day in the Life is great, of course, but there's still a bunch of other fucking great pop tunes. Still, man, what the hell was George thinking (or taking)? I've been told he was fond of Indian music and all that stuff, but his song here is the weakest in the whole record.

Me gusto mucho chart, honestamente me trajo aqui tus 5000 palabras que escribiste en el review the The NAtional, fue realmente divertido leer todo eso. Para mi High Violet es mi disco favorito, puede estar lleno de cliches, pero es una chingoneria ese disco!. Ahora en unos meses los vere en Brooklyn (20,000 personas) va a ser algo ridiculo.
En cuanto a el resto de tu chart, muy bueno. Honestamente a mi no me encanta la musica en español, soy de MExico y jamas me he obsesionado con un grupo. Cafe Tacuba puede ser de lo mejorcito.
Escucha Godspeed Black Emperor o Mogwai si te parece que Spiderland es un grower!

Very nice chart, though I don't agree with the Unknown Pleasures/Disintegration thing. Both are great, but UP is better in every way.

@elparacaidas, te contesto en castellano por que hace mucho que no hablo ingles y perdi la practica. No mezclo albumes por una gran razon: no conozco, o conozco muy poco. Oktubre es uno de mis discos favoritos, y en su momento lo habia puesto 25 o algo asi en la lista, pero lo termine sacando por que decidi que era mejor conocer musica de mi país y de latinoamerica y después decidir si mezclar o armar dos listas por separado, una para Argentina, otra para la música anglosajona. Conozco mucho más musica de otras partes que de argentina, y eso es por que busco musica de afuera y cuando compro, compro musica de afuera. En algun momento de mi vida me voy a obsesionar con lo que tenemos aca; cosas buenas tenemos seguro.
Asi que , gran razon de por que no tengo álbumes argentinos o lationamericanos es que soy ignorante. Cuando llegue el momento de escuchar lo que tenga que escuchar voy a poder decidir bien. Por ahora prefiero no.
Mientras tanto sigo obsesionado con musica yanqui. Voy de mal en peor.
Debería traducir esto al inglés asi practico un poco.

@meruizh Gracias por comentar. Que bueno que hayas venido por el comentario en Trouble Will Find Me, todavía no entiendo como escribí tanto. Que bueno que puedas verlos. Desde Mexico es otra cosa, es muy cerca de EEUU. Desde acá en Argentina no es tan fácil ir. Igual de vez en cuando tenemos suerte y viene alguien a tocar, sobretodo a Buenos Aires.
@Defago la verdad que no entendí tu comentario, que quiere decir exactamente "papi rico"?
