A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. This is a phenomenal chart, replacements, buzzcocks, pavement, smiths, husker, just some jesus and mary chain and it would be invincible

Of course, Gold Soundz! I love that song. "It has a nice ring when you laugh at the low life opinions..."
You know, Crooked Rain would probably be in my top 55 or 60. I used to rate it higher, but I've started to grow out of indie rock about indie rock. If you were to list bands of the 90's though, Pavement is probably right behind Nirvana. Good chart overall, and I like your taste. I would have rated it higher, but there's a few I think you rated too highly in my opinion.
