Top 100 Greatest Music Albums

I put a lot of thought into this, with each album exactly where I want it. I tried to make this as non-varying to my current state of mind as possible by listening to some calming crap. As you can see I am a huge fan of late-60s rock, psychedelic, and all that good stuff. I'm also high on prog rock from the 70s, and the pre-alternative from the 80s. The 90s were just full of great alt rock, with that extending into the early 21st century, before the current period of music I'm not fond of at all. Top four bands for me ever are, in order, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, and Led Zeppelin. The rest are far away from these four, with none of them really deserving to be in that quartet.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Aw yes. Totally understand you, Floyd just have too many great albums, it's a challenge not to put them all in the top 10. A really diverse and interesting list

We have a very similar taste in music I feel. You have probably listened to Neil Young, Supertramp, Sufjan Stevens and Talk Talk but If not I would definitely recommend listening to the albums I have of them on my chart.

Good chart full of great albums, just no surprises nothing I haven't heard. Would be far more interested to see you do a 70's chart or prog chart. Have a look at my 70's year charts my favourite era for music aswell, more diversity.
